Notes:March 2017 – Tim Hills: A solid looking yew grows by the wall SE of the church. In The Celtic Christian Sites of the central and southern Marches by Sarah & John Zaluckyj it is described as ‘a very old yew on an embanked mound against the boundary wall. It has a considerable circumference, suggesting a very great age-a pre-Norman origin perhaps’. It appears to be a solid tree and divides into thick upright branches from about 10′. Lateral branches dip over the wall where there is a steep drop to the land below. Girth was 19′ 2” (584cm) between ground and 1′.
