Notes:1998 – Tim Hills: Tree 1 on the plan grows west of the tower. One of its two hollow spaces was filled with several feet of grass. Girth of 21′ 10” (665cm) at the ground recorded.
2001 – Tim Hills: Tree recovering from recent fire damage.
2013 – Tim Hills: Tree appears to have made a complete recovery. 2016 – Paul Wood: The yew is apparently growing well but ivy growth has accelerated since 2013. There is also much twiggy growth on the east side of the tree. Measured at the ground over a cushion of ivy a girth of 21′ 11” (668cm) was recorded. The tree is hollow with extensive internal growth though a spine of white wood. This fine yew will at some time become a horseshoe shape.
