Tree ID: 4238
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 457cm
Girth height: at the ground
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 26-Oct-13
Source of earliest mention: 1834: Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Wales
Notes:October 2013 – Tim Hills: Tree 8 on the plan is the only large female here. A large portion of the tree is missing and an internal stem is visible. Its tall straight bole divides into 3 main branches at a height of about 20ft. Girth of about 15′ at the ground recorded.
2016 – Paul Wood: Ivy beginning to take over this tree. It was not possible to measure because of a thick stump of what looked like elder right against the yew at ground level. Branches appear to be cut off at regular intervals, so there is no major branch development on the lower part of the tree.
