Tree ID: 115
Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m
Tree girth: 508cm
Girth height: at the ground
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 10-Aug-98
Source of earliest mention: 1991: Tree Register Data Base -Percival Morgan
Notes:August 1998 – Tim Hills: WSW of the church. Now only a part shell, the stone at its base was apparently once embedded in its trunk. An approximate girth of 16′ 6” (503cm) was recorded.
July 2015 – Paul Wood: A much reduced shell of a tree that appears to be splitting again on the east side. There is still lots of foliage, appearing very green in the strong sun. Girth was measured at ground level on the hollow (west) side of the tree and 508cm (16′ 8”) was recorded. This measurement may be more to do with the tree leaning as it splits than new growth. The fallen stone perhaps has some carving on it but was too heavy for one person to move. It is possibly pre Norman.
