Notes:Tree 5 is the largest girthed here and has been larger in the past. It grows on sloping ground WNW of the church. It was by far the tallest in the churchyard with a spreading crown. The slope of the ground made accurate measurement difficult. From its centre rises one massive branch with a second growing alongside. A further growth area has many branches (at least 4 of large size) as well as old truncated remains. A major portion was sawn off at ground level.
In 1984 Reg Wheeler recorded the girth above the dead branch seen in photo 6 as 623cm (20′ 5”).
