Notes:August 2000 – Tim Hills: East of the church. Girth continues to expand until the tree is about 15′ high. Bits of dead wood suggest that the tree has been larger still. Girth of 16′ 11” (516cm) at 1′ recorded.
2011 – Tim Hills: Girth of 17′ 7” (536cm) at 1′ recorded. Tree has certainly been larger girthed, with large internal stems visible inside its decaying outer shell.
2016 – Paul Wood: The yew is very different in the space of 5 years. In spite of it being smothered in ivy, I was able to remove sufficient to record a girth of 17′ 1” (521cm) at 1′. The ivy is in need of removal soon. Some dead wood was visible inside the bole and some branches are dead. Foliage was green but thin.
