Tree ID: 196
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 450cm
Girth height: at 15cm
Tree sex: male
Date of visit: 21-Feb-00
Source of earliest mention: 1986: Churchyard yews of Gwent - J.Daryll Evans
Notes:February 2000 – Tim Hills: Tree 4 on the plan. Accurate girth recording thwarted by twiggy growth. The bole appears intact, but through a small gap it is seen to be completely hollow, with internal stems. Girth 14′ 9” (450cm) between the ground and 1′.
July 2016 – Paul Wood: A male yew that looked robust with a small amount of ivy and some areas of twiggy growth around the bole. It looked hollow but it was not possible to get close because of iron railings, broken grave monuments and bags containing heavy material placed between the tree and the boundary wall as well as up against the tree.
