Llanwnda

Tree ID: 1182

Yews recorded: Notable

Tree girth: 355cm

Girth height: at the ground

Tree sex: Female

Date of visit: 29/12/1983

Source of earliest mention: 1946: The Churchyard Yew and Immortality - Cornish

Notes:

In 2000 I was only recording yews with a girth of 5m and above, so at this site I wrote ‘nothing significant here’. In 1983 Reg Wheeler was recording every yew, usually with its girth. The two largest, seen in Google Earth show the two female yews close to the churchyard gate, south of the church. These had girths of 355cm (11′ 8”) and 285cm (9′ 4”) at the ground.
