Tree ID: 2213
Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m
Tree girth: 554cm
Girth height: at the base
Tree sex: male
Date of visit: 4-Apr-06
Source of earliest mention: 2006 Tim Hills
Notes:April 2006 – Tim Hills: The yew grows on a substantial mound where its five outer branches surround a central branch. None appeared of great age, the largest girthing about 6′. The question is whether these all spring from a concealed root of an old tree? Girth was 17′ 7” (536cm) around the base of all of its branches in 2006.
April 2012 – Peter Norton: Two yews grow within the walled churchyard. The significant tree grows out of a 2′ 6″ high mound just southeast of the church. It has a short bole with six stems (all confirmed as male). Measured at the base and with the tape undulating I recorded a girth of 18′ 2″ (554cm), a figure which includes some branch swell. A younger yew growing just south of the porch is male with a girth of 11′ 1″ at 1′.
