Notes:

July 2013 – Tim Hills: The girth of 12′ 7” (383cm) at the ground belies a grand old tree. What is now the main stem might well have been internal growth, and there are signs at the ground that girth has been larger. This puts the yew into the ancient category. There are many places in the tree where old dead sapwood is seen, with new growth beginning to wrap around it. The nearby yew is of very different appearance, but is of interest as a small girthed (7′ 5” at 3′) completely hollow tree. The photos are all of the old yew.
2024 – Monica Gillespie: Diameter of 1440mm at 60cm. A girth of 453cm (14′ 10”).
