Notes:Number 2037, it has lost a large portion of the trunk and about half of its surface is of dead wood. However in the centre of this decaying section is a complete internal tree ready to take its place. It is in the foreground of the photo and tree 2 in Toby Hindson’s Merdon Castle article. Girth of 12′ 8”(386cm) at 3′ (5′ where ground slopes away).
