Tree ID: 603
Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m
Tree girth: 599cm
Girth height: at 20cm
Tree sex: male
Date of visit: 2-May-99
Source of earliest mention: 1939: The King's England - Arthur Mee
Notes:May 1999 – Tim Hills: Appears to be separated into two fragments which are probably joined just below the ground. The smaller fragment (left in the photo) is a hollow shell sawn off at 6′ and sustaining only a small section of growth. The larger gives rise to many branches. Girth 19′ 5” (592cm) close to the ground.
2018 Paul wood: A well kept and accessible churchyard. The yew appeared in good condition with much green foliage throughout the tree. A small pile of bricks was placed at the southeast side of the tree. I recorded a girth of 19′ 8” (599cm) at 8” above the ground. The limb that is propped on the south of the tree looked stable.
