Notes:Yew tree B is at SO52078786. Here are probably two trees, with the possiblity that one has layered from the other. Significant amounts of dead wood clinging to the outside of both trees suggests that we should not entirely discount the possibility of both trees being regrowth following the collapse of a tree that has long gone. The larger tree was measured at a point level with the top of the field, at the root crown, which stands about 5′ above the Dean side of the tree’s ground level. Over small amounts of twiggy growth I recorded a girth of 17′ 3” (526cm).
