Notes:July 2001 – Tim Hills: No fewer than 10 major branches stretch from the bole. All subdivide, some are supported on props. Five metres from the bole these branches reach the ground. As they continue to grow horizontally they sprout new growth. The fact that 22 new trees rise from these prone branches makes this unique among yew trees.
April 2013 – David Alderman, Charles Henderson, Donald Rodger: Girth of 513cm (16′ 10”) at 0.3m recorded. One of its layering branches, traced back to the parent tree, was observed to be male.
