Tree ID: 3076
Yews recorded: Notable
Tree girth: No data
Girth height: not measured
Tree sex: female
Date of visit: 8-Sep-09
Source of earliest mention: 1908: www.nottshistory - notes by Rev.J.Standish
Notes:In 1908 the old yew tree was described as consisting of a parent stem and daughter tree, the parent stem being shorn of its branches. It is not possible to know exactly what Standish was describing. What is seen today hints of a once larger tree, but how much larger could only be determined by old photographic records.
With a girth of under 4m the tree is presently classified as notable. Because it displays veteran characteristics it will in the future be classified as V-con (veteran on account of its condition).
