November 1929: The yew was measured as ‘ten and a quarter feet at 4ft or less from the ground’.
July 2011 – Tim Hills: Girths recorded are 12′ 0” (366cm) at 2′; 12′ 3” (373cm) at 3′ and 12′ 6” (381cm) at 4′. This equates to 2′ of added girth in 82 years. Many branches have been removed from this tree at the height of 8’/10′, and foliage in the crown appeared rather thin.
May 2013 – Peter Norton: Three yews grow east of the church with the largest at the southeast being this female that is starting to hollow. A thin strip of pale wood indicates where the cavity will start. A girth of 12′ 8” (386cm) at 1′ and 12′ 2” (371cm) at 2′ (one nail indicates this height) was recorded.
One male and one female grow to the northeast of this tree.
