Tree sex: unspecified
Date of visit: 14/7/2002
Source of earliest mention: Tim Hills
Notes:14/7/2002 Tim Hills: A reference to two ancient yews (source unknown) led me to this churchyard. Its only yew grew NE of the church. To the north of the church was a circle of nettles, burnt waste etc that might have been where the other grew. The living yew appeared to be 12’/14’ in girth but was impossible to measure through brambles and elder. Growth was mainly rising, with a significant branch growing close to the main stem. Foliage was thin with much leaf yellowing. Ivy wound its way throughout the tree, there were many dead branches visible and it appeared to be in urgent need of attention.
By the time Peter Norton visited (c2012) this tree no longer existed.
