Jannette Warden wrote: “It is the general opinion that the trees in the churchyard were only planted about 100 years ago so it is not the age of our yew tree which is important. However we thought you would be interested in the number of yew trees that we have………. 20 are Taxus baccata L and 15 are Fastigiata.”
Girth of the largest yew was 9′ 8” (295cm) at 3′ and 10′ 2” (310cm) at 4′. A certificate with an estimated age of 260 years was sent to the church.
