Yews recorded: Ancient 5m-7m

Tree girth: 530cm

Girth height: at the ground

Tree sex: male

Date of visit: 7-Jul-14

Source of earliest mention: 1903: Horsfall-Turner (pers. Corres. Arthur Chater)

Notes:

The tree grows on a mound SE of the church.
It was noted in 1903 as ‘a venerable yew’.
Girth of 530cm (17′ 5”) was that recorded in 2008 by the Ancient Tree Hunt.
In 2014 low branches made further measurement impossible and hid most of the bole. This consists of two large vertical stems which rise from one side of the bole. On the opposite side are the scars of what would once have been several more stems.
