Notes:

Tim Hills 2007: It is difficult to ascertain whether this might have been the tree whose girth was recorded by Collinson in 1791 as 12′ at 5′. Considerable ivy covered the bole and the only accurate measurement that could be made was at the ground, where 13′ 6” was recorded. Girth recorded at a higher level would include thickening to support low forming branches. An unusual feature was upright twiggy growth on all branches that grow at right angles to the bole.
Peter Norton 16/04/2012: To the south of the porch is the female yew with a girth of 14′ 3″ (434cm) at 2′. Also a tall male yew with a girth of 12′ 1″ (368cm) at 3′ growing near the northeast gate.
