Notes:June 1999 – Tim Hills: A watercolour by the Rev Williams dating from the 1790s showing clearly that there were once two great yews at this site (A.Morton). He asserts that the yew to the west was probably removed during restoration work – apparently the fate of many trees, and a trend that continues.
