Tree girth: 508cm

Notes:

The strangely shaped yew seen in the photograph is found at the foot of the steps of the entrance to the Hermitage Chapel. Its four misshapen stems suggests considerable human interference. Girth around the 4 stems was 16′ 8” (508cm). There are other yews at the site, one at the chapel itself grows hard by the western wall of a 15th century ‘hall’ and was clearly affected by the construction. This has a girth of 284 cm.
