Warndon

Tree ID: 3004

Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 444.5cm

Girth height: at 30cm

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 8-May-09

Source of earliest mention: No data

Notes:

A pair of female yews, the largest grows to the NE. A graceful tree with branches reaching towards the ground all around. A solid trunk with no branching for 8’/10′, however a snapped off central branch shows holes in which water will have penetrated and there will be the expected hollow spaces within the tree.
The yew growing NW is at the top of a steep bank. Its girth is considerably less – 9′ 9” at 3′. Churchyard rubbish was being stored beneath this tree at the time of my visit.
