Notes:November 2016 – Tim Hills: Yew 1 is a remnant of something that was once larger, though how much larger it is not possible to tell. The overall shape of the managed tree is quite small. There was too much low growth to allow measurement, but 10′ would seem a reasonable guess. It has been pollarded at a height of about 5′ and one thick sawn off branch testifies to the fact that this was once a tree of substance.
