Watermillock

Tree ID: 4926

Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m

Tree girth: 496cm

Girth height: at root crown

Tree sex: male

Date of visit: 12-Jun-16

Source of earliest mention: 1997: Graham Wilkinson

Notes:

June 2016 – Toby Hindson: This male yew grows in the old southwest corner of the churchyard, and had a girth of 496cm [V-g] at the base (root crown). It was very difficult to measure because it has low side branches and is used as cover for an old shed and junk. This possibly explains why it has not been measured or properly noticed before. The canopy was thin, and shaped by the wind. Its bole is columnar to c3m, then multiple upright stems.
