Notes:

It is a puzzle that such a fine ancient specimen should have taken so long to be discovered. An outstanding tree with a complete circle of almost 23′ of living wood, bulging to over 30′ at 5′. Two holes at the base indicate that the tree is hollow, while up in its branches can be see the truncated remains of what would have been the original bole. The ground is uneven with burrows. The bole is covered in twiggy and adventitious growth. The crown has a fine expansive shape and the tree appears in very good health. Girth was 22′ 8” (691cm) between 12” and 18”.
