Notes:

The image is of a yew in the gardens of the Bishop’s Palace and we are told it is a ‘remarkable natural graft between two yew trees, one male the other female’. This information comes from the Head Gardener, James Cross, who says that while it has been known there for some years, few visitors ever notice it. It is certainly one that needs further study.
