Notes:

The lost yew, which grew NE of the church is seen on the right in this 1920s postcard. This is almost certainly the tree Collinson gave a girth of ’13 ft round’ in 1791. The stump, discovered by Sue Smith, is all that remains. The pieces show that the tree’s girth was above 16′ when it was felled. The date and reason for its demise is not known.
