Notes:The 1817 Topographical History described two large yew trees, one of them with the ‘high top dry with bald antiquity’. The 1905 North Staffordshire Field Club visit to Weston-on-Trent church (Staffordshire) reported that it was possible to see ‘the remains of a picturesque yew tree in the churchyard, but another one has disappeared within the last century’. A site visit is needed to determine whether the yew remains of 1905 are still in situ.
