Notes:Roots flow down the bank and there appears to be a healthy root layer firmly joined to the main trunk. Soil has washed away from behind the root structure so the effect is quite impressive. Closer inspection revealed that the yew has lost a substantial amount of the outer shell as viewed on the hidden side on the top of the bank and has been blackened by fire while young ivy is now taking hold. On the side facing the track could be seen thick ivy stems. No measurement was taken due to the yew’s position. Tree recorded in May 2014 by the Ancient Tree Hunt (no.13872) with a girth of 6.25m (20′ 6”) at 30cm.
