Tree ID: 5015
Yews recorded: Ancient 4m-5m
Tree girth: 457cm
Girth height: No data
Tree sex: Unspecified
Date of visit: 1/12/2016
Source of earliest mention: Paul Wood
Notes:Yew 4, the most easterly of the four is found at SO48987065 and is the easiest to access. It has a bole of considerable size at ground level which rises about 15′ /20′. In the past all of its limbs have been removed. What we see today looked no older than about 30 years. The tree is hollow and a few internal stems stick out of some of these hollows. An old sapwood spine on the south side of the tree suggests that it is slowly becoming a horse shoe shape. Foliage was thin and there was a yellow tinge to the tree from a covering of algae. I estimated girth to be 14′ to 16′.
