Notes:Tree 1 is the most westerly of the four, found at SO48727054. It consists of new growth from the remains of a shell of an old stump. It grows in an area that is a filled in pond with at least one spring feeding into it. The water is now channelled away in a relatively modern ditch. It is difficult to guess what size the yew once might have been but from the small amount of shell left and its curved shape this might well be a lost veteran. This regrowth is relatively new, within the last twenty years, suggesting that the shell has lay dormant for a long time before starting to grow again.
