Notes:

This photographic sequence shows graphically the yew’s powers of recovery. Not many would have left in situ the dead looking tree of 1929. The recovery has been maintained to the present day and the tree remains in a very healthy state and should last for many centuries to come. It is to be hoped that as more of our country churches fall out of use that their notable, veteran and ancient yews will be looked after as well as this specimen.
