March 2017 – Paul Wood: The immediate area around the tree is soft ground with holes, broken glass and general rubbish. On top of this was a carpet of ivy which has started to envelop the yew and some clearance was needed to measure and photograph the tree. The bole is uniform in size to a height of about 6′, with a vertical gap the entire length of the bole on the south side. Major and lesser limbs have been removed in the past. A deep green foliage was not particularly thick. The overall appearance was of a squat yew.
