Notes:After the felling of the old yew in 1763 this one was planted. According to a rhyme in a volume of cuttings relating to Ragley, at the Shire Hall is the following: ‘In 1763/ In Wixford churchyard there was felled a yew tree,/In 1765/ There was planted another that never will thrive’. The tree thrives, with its spreading branches supported on props. The photo ‘Yew tree in Wixford churchyard’ was taken in 2011 – cc-by-sa/2.0 – © Liz Stone – geograph.org.uk/p/2562164
