Tree ID: 858

Yews recorded: Ancient 7m+

Tree girth: 714cm

Girth height: at the ground

Tree sex: female

Date of visit: 16-Nov-98

Notes:

November 1998 – Tim Hills: This tenacious yew consists of two fragments. Girth of 23′ 5” (714cm) at the ground excludes small piece of stump.
January 2003 – Russell Cleaver: A remote site, two fragments of a once larger tree, pruned carefully for reduction. 23′ 2”/7.06 at 1.1m.
September 2012 – Peter Norton: The female yew, at the moment in two sections, is likely to become even more fragmented in time. There is much sculptured white wood with small internal stems, and the crown was a rich green. I recorded the girth, a mixture of root crown and ground, with a slightly undulating tape and included the small stump, recording a girth of 22′ 10” (696cm).
