Notes:

May 2002 – Tim Hills: A red bole with live wood around most of its 15′ (457cm) girth. Above the bulging at 4’/5′ is thick twiggy growth. At some stage in its life this yew has picked up a crate and refused to let go. Wood has now grown right around it and perhaps in 500 years time it will have been completely swallowed up by new growth, and eventually appear on the inside of the tree.
February 2016 – Paul Wood: Bole seems extraordinarily red and foliage pale green. The yew, which grows in a well kept churchyard, looked in fine health and the basket noted in 2002 continues to slowly disappear into the depths of its bole. Somebody has hammered in a nail on the tree’s south side at a height of 15cm. Since this appears to be the tree’s narrowest point it was measured at this height and 15′ 3” (465cm) was recorded.
