Notes:

In Notes and Queries Sept 19th 1931 Wm Jaggard wrote: ‘Yatesbury Churchyard, between Calne and Marlborough, owned some gigantic yews, centuries old. One was over 20ft in girth’. Cornish (1946) recorded a yew of ‘aldermanic proportions’. We found no trace of old yews at this site. There are however two younger yews found in the churchyard. The largest, growing near the south porch, is female with a girth of 11′ 10” at 1′ above the root crown in 2010.
